Success Through Play™ comments:

Catherine Jones, an accomplished chef and mother of two and Rose Ann Hudson, R.D., L.D., a perinatal nutritionist and mother of two, combine their skills in this fantastic recipe book for the entire family. The dynamic duo offer creative, delicious and easy to prepare recipes, which feature full nutritional information including diabetic exchange info. Each recipe asks the question "What's in this for baby and me?" and is followed with a list of vitamins and minerals. Readers will find the cooking and storage tips very useful. A highlight of the book is that each recipe features a section called "Complete Meal Ideas". Here the authors offer suggestions for additional items which they encourage you to serve with that particular meal, which is customized to each recipe. This unique approach ensures that the meal will be nutritionally balanced. The Appendix features very useful reference charts including: BMI charts, Vitamin A and C fruit and vegetable sources, nondairy calcium sources, breakfast cereals that contain 100 percent of the daily value of folic acid, food safety tips and many more useful references.

If you are interested in improving your diet and learning how to make simple, nutritional meals, this book is for you, regardless of whether you are pregnant or not!

We tested 3 vegetarian recipes and were very impressed with our results!

Green Slip Pea Soup

We used the slow cooker option

Roasted Marinated Vegetables

Sautéed Tofu and Portobello Mushrooms on a Bed of Greens

All 3 recipes were very easy to prepare, using ingredients that we had in our pantry. Our staff enjoyed each delicious meal and enjoyed hearing how nutritional each meal was. We would like to thank Sean Maher from Da Capo Press for sending us a review copy of this book.

Wow, you guys take the time to test out a few recipes...that's fantastic. I can't stand it when people review recipe books and don't even test our a few recipes. The meals look delicious. Thank you for working so hard!!!

This has been so helpful to me. I was baffled about what to eat when I was pregnant with my first. My doc told me to eat a "healthy, balanced diet" but that was it. Having a book which addresses both nutritional info and provides easy to follow recipes sounds perfect!

I LOVE the pictures. The tofu on greens look wonderful.
